The 2000 CLK 320 combines Mercedes’ pillarless coupé profile with the smooth, flexible and durable 3.2-litre M112 V6. The facelift brought ESP, Touchshift transmission and a more modern cabin without changing the C208’s proportions. It was conceived less as an extreme sports car than as a compact grand tourer, quiet and capable of covering distance at speed with little effort.
